Information on cruise company

Żegluga Gdańska Sp. z o.o. with its registered office in Gdansk, ul. Pończoszników 2 is a private company, legal successor and continuator of the cruise company established in March 1946. The President of the Management Board, Sea Captain – Mr. Jerzy Latała, owing to his experience acquired in the western shipping companies, has contributed to the intensive development of the company, considerably increased its assets and the extent of activities and at the same time remembering to take care of maintaining the continuity of the tradition of “White Fleet” which became an inherent part of the Tricity landscape.

Żegluga Gdańska, Poland’ s largest shipping company in coastal trade, has been certificated by the Maritime Office in Gdynia as international ship operator with the Document of Conformity No. 0105363 directly after the introduction of the International Safety Management Code (ISM Code) and currently is supplied with a Document of Conformity to operate the following ships as international shipownr, valid till June 11, 2013:
  • passenger ship
  • fast passenger ship
  • bulk carrier
  • other cargo vessel
The company deals with domestic trade in the area of Tricity (Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot), the Polish Middle Coast and Vistula Lagoon as well as international passenger shipping during the navigation season from Ustka and Darłowo to the Danish island of Bornholm and last year restored all-year-round duty-free cruises to Baltiysk, which were suspended for the winter period because of ice conditions.

Żegluga Gdańska has also available a repair depot for servicing its own fleet.
